Thailand: Ko Phangan

Been thinking about color today. I need to paint my house. Also unexpectedly thinking of thailand where they are still digging out from under the big wave. All of those fishing boats with their bright seafoam greens and reds and yellows. The world of color is different out there. A break from gray and fresh green.

Old London

An oldie from a great (but chilly) trip to London last May. Thank you Patti for the link information!
This is one that I'm going to make larger as a 30"x 40" painting. In the meantime, house construction has distracted me from my daily doodles.

Moleskine vs. the Others

OK all, here are my current findings. While the Moleskine is cool, expensive and oh, so spylike - which is good for the quick idea, the sad truth is I'm addicted to my Uniball Microfine Inkpen.

Sooo...as you can see here, there is a ghost quality from the day before and the day after. Hey, there you go.

I am also awaiting my new driver's card from DMV...

The Sketchbooks...

Well - a happy note. I got my scanner which is five years old to work today. Yeah for AGFA. I am very happy the fine folks at AFGA continue to write drivers for older models. So, despite procrastination, I have no excuse but to start to scan my sketchbooks. I recently got them out of storage and realized that my sketching habit has gotten a little out of hand. These are my books since 1990...

The fine litte pictures on the wall are paintings from Thailand which I am starting to scan.
Below is a painting of a longtail taxi boat near Railey Beach in Krabi.

It is raining, but I promise more drawings for the bus soon. Thank you for the safe reports of Mustard. I am very much relieved to hear that he was located. I suspect the brown sauce is responsible.

Waiting out the Rain

A quick posting since I'm up to my eyeballs in stuff. Rain, gray and more gray.
Pity the tourists!

The Tabasco Wars of 2005

If we are really, really lucky the sun will come out in San Francisco. Everyone needs to go the the architect's yard sale, since they are moving to Boston. Very shortly, Mr. Bogart will be coming to stay and will appear as a guest on this site.

Lately, a gang of condiments has been appearing at my cafe's table. I fear a problem between Tabasco and Salt-n-Pepper, and I wonder if Ketchup agreed to the uneasy alliance with the sassy cousins from down south. But, neverfear SnP are tough creatures, just ask Honey Bear on how it all faired...

Emptiness

Many years ago, I bought a set of vinyl chairs in Mountain View. They were "temporary" chairs and well, here they are seven years later. It was the sort of day where it would have been nice to have tea, to just talk, but maybe another day.

Milton!

There's never enough tape, scissors or staplers. Do they go where lost socks are?

Moleskine!

OK, I've joined the little notebook cult. Damn you! Cute little books.
Now I am becoming a sketch-spy lurking on the cafe scene...

Angel Island

A little snapshot of a painting from the top of Angel Island. It is sunny here again and I am back to looking to painting the sky. Due to artistic peer pressure, I have decided a temporary try of the famed Moleskin sketchbook. And, if any of my fellow bloggers can tell me how to add a links section, I have met a great variety of artists via the illustrated blogs webring...and would like to share them. Goodnight from San Francisco.

Another Round

And so starts a new sketchbook.
